What to Expect at Camp Suryamal
Camp Suryamal is one of the best getaways from Mumbai to not just enjoy an amazing family retreat but also to chill with friends or even come solo!
Best in class, huge computerized telescopes, which are some of the largest in the entire region are Avalaible for guests to peek through and appreciate the cosmos, you havent seen anything untill you watch them through a 16 inch scope!
Our food is proudly cooked on site and not outsourced . Guests can emjoy the supmtous Veg. Barbeque and a fullfilling Dinner.

Close enough from Mumbai to drive from and dark eneough to see the Milkyway. Its dissapointing to know that most people have never seen as many stars in the sky, Suryamal has a beatuiful canopy of stars that make you awestruck.
A safe and secure, walled up compound around the campsite to ensure your safety. We also use higher quality tents than most and provide matress and pillow inside for your comfort.(Bring your own blankets), you can also request a straw mattress to sleep below the stars!
We have fully built up Western Style Washrooms, seperate for Men and Women.

(Local Bolero/Traxx taxi 8 pax per vehicle)-
Rs.600/- per person.
*If you are a solo traveller, you may have to share a tent with another person, if you want a tent to yourself, you can do that by paying an additional Rs1,500, and we will book the whole tent for you.

Cancellation charges-
Before 15 days- 80% refund given
Before 7 days- 50% refund given
One day before camp or day of camp- No refund given under any circumstances

Itinerary
Saturday
4:00-4:30 PM(Afternoon)- Arrival at the campsite (don't miss the sunset hike!).
-6:30-7:00 PM- Return, Tent assignment and lip smackin' Barbeque
-8:00 PM-Astro session begins with introductory lecture from Vikram Virulkar and first observation session.
-9:00 PM- Dinner break
-9:45 PM-Bonfire session/observation session.
-11:00 PM- rest /nap ( You can retire to your tents if you are sleepy.)
-12:00 AM its time for more objects in the night sky
Sunday
-8-8:30 AM- Breakfast served and camp ends with fond memories.
-9:00 AM- Checkout

FAQ's
Q-How much to walk to reach the camp site?
A-The parking is inside the campsite and if you want to drive down, roads are superb.🚗
Q-How challenging is the trek/hike ?
Easy grade, not challenging at all, about 10 mins of gradual climbing.
Q- What kind of Toilets are there?
A-Ample number of Western Toilets Separate for Men & Women
Q-I am a Solo traveller, is it safe for me?
A- We get plenty of Solo's(both men and women). If people around you are indecisive and wont confirm, don't worry. Come in and have a good time
Q-How is the food made?
-Food is cooked inhouse and served fresh kitchen to table. Garma garam. Only Vegetarian food is available.
Q- I have found somewhere cheaper, will you reduce the price? -
No.
Quality comes at a cost my friends, cheaper doesn't always mean better :)
Q- I want to carry some Alcohol
A- Alcohol and Astronomy do not mix. We have a Strict No Alcohol policy. If you want to have Alcohol, please go somewhere else and by all means enjoy yourself there, just don't come here :P
If found, we will be forced to terminate your booking and ask you to leave the camp without any refund.

-Stargazing is a activity dependent on Nature. While we take care that we organize events on days that the chances of rains and clouds are minimal but in case the skies do get clouded over, we will try to enjoy the camp as much as possible but a refund will not be possible.
-Participation is confirmed only after a full payment is received. part payments are not allowed, we don't accept cash.
